Together with partners, we make an important contribution to combating tuberculosis.
Tuberculosis is the world's most common infectious disease. In 2023 alone there were 10.6 million new infections and 1.3 million deaths. Given the growing problem of antibiotic-resistant strains, there is an urgent need for new, effective drugs to combat this disease. The development of innovative active ingredients such as BTZ-043, a DZIF flagship project led by the Institute for Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine at the LMU Munich Hospital in collaboration with the Leibniz-HKI in Jena, plays a crucial role. We are pleased to be actively involved in further optimizing the manufacturing process of BTZ-043.
