The 2018 Gerteis roller compaction seminars have been a great success. Both seminars were held in September at Gerteis Jona with an international group of attendees.

The first seminar titled 'Understanding Roller Compaction Technology' covered all basic aspects of roller compaction from the machine setup via the process parameter and trouble shooting. The combination of theory session and practical exercises allows participants from all relevant functions to deepen their knowledge about the roller compactors, the process and its results on granule properties.

The second seminar 'First Roller Compaction Trials in Development of Dry Granulates' was focussing on R&D and product transfer related tasks.
After recapping the basics, the team moved on to real-life situations: How to start your DoE / QbD? How can I influence product particle size distribution (PSD)? What to consider when transferring a recipe from one roller compactor to another? Working with different powders on two different machines - the Mini-Pactor and Macro-Pactor – enabled participants to gather experience efficiently and find new approaches for their product development.

Both seminars were rounded off with presentations from speakers of the industry in which they reported their successful operation of Gerteis roller compactors. We would like to give our thanks to the guest speakers!

We are happy to have hosted many interesting professionals from the industry and to provide an extensive insight into Gerteis' dry granulation technology. We thank all our guests for their engaging participation and we look forward to seeing all again at one of our future events.
